Provincial government did not directly confirm it rejected funding requests. But it did say that government officials communicated to the Globe Theatre that "project costs, including overruns, are the responsibility of the recipient as outlined in the funding agreement."

That would be the first time anyone in the city has confirmed the provincial government denied funding requests from The Globe Theatre. The city's report doesn't mention the province in anyway. The NDP sent out a release earlier alleging the province turned down funding requests
