what's a random city you have inexplicable beef with?

I went on a historians starter packs spree, and a number of them followed be back. So first, hello and thanks! Second, I'm not a historian. I'm in the second semester of my bachelors, wrote one term paper. I love the entire subject. Just don't expect any wild projects or quality hottakes.

When I see historians using gAI to read, think or write (mercifully few in my circles), I admit to feeling a great deal of contempt. How can you be so uncritical that you do not see the labor implications of gAI for our already-wounded profession? Or who owns/runs these tech companies?

"This will transform historical research!" Cool but it's already being transformed out of existence by the same forces pushing these transformative technologies. Forgive us if we're skeptical of a moment that's telling us "This will help you do your work--which we despise--faster and better."

I have found no experience that compares to the mix of catharsis and dread of writing your childhood trauma into a story.

1) no one in Israeli govt is the leader of Jews. Jews don’t have a leader. 2) “Palestinian people” is not an equatable term to “Jewish people.” This is not Jews v Palestine. It’s the Israeli and US govt killing Palestinians How many times must this be said.

A way to be an ally to Jews is to relentlessly point out that there are more Christian Zionists in the US alone then there are Jews in the entire world (many of whom are not even Zionists). The conversation about Zionism should be dominated by that rather than laying all blame at the feet of Jews.

Hiw did I not know we're getting a ridiculously, awesomely accurate-looking Street Fighter movie this year? That's real, right? Because it looks too much like an expensive April Fool's to be true, but I want it to be.

I only realized immediately after posting that this needs clarification: My Saturday mornings often involve getting up, taking my ADHD medication, then a quick stability and agility workout before breakfast. So my Concerta often kicks between the first and second set. That's what I mean.
