warm vibrant scary art & stories ⚢ Authoress of Beetle and the Hollowbones (middle grade yuri fantasy graphic novel) and Demon Street, a fantasy webcomic. Dollmaker & fiber artist & of course, the goblin queen ☀️ alizalayne.com (she/her)

still recovering from watching oniisama e with my friends who are also utena fans. it was a near-telepathic experience of pointing at shots and going oh my god look there it is oh my god holy shit (pointing at it). it feels like looking at strands of DNA

that idea of having to construct a body without understanding of what you're building, or of inhabiting a strange body etc, will probably reoccur a lot in my body of work. I haven't finished looking at it from different angles yet. for more from me on this please read beetle and the chimera carnival

I made demon street in an effort to teach myself how to draw, so I decided that as a method of relief from doing things wrong essie would really be—diegetically—as simplistic and weird-looking as I drew her, which led naturally to the plot idea that she haphazardly created her own body.

please keep a copy of demon street & give copies to your friends. half of the original pages were made on a laptop from 2007 and are too small to print. i do not want the comic to disappear from the world forever. credit the comic back to me, don't sell it, and distribute it as you like. thank you🩷

Thanks to anyone letting me know the demon street website has been taken down. I need to offboard the comic from my digital publisher but have been away from my desk for the past 5 months for work. I'll get a PDF version of the comic together as soon as I can and link it or host it on my website.

The Kitty Fairy - painted after a home movie on VHS of me in a kindergarten play. it's interesting to see another version of yourself who looks and acts like you but is also kind of like a wild animal
