Defence Department testing sharks as pilots for experimental aircraft (F1EA, 'flea'). Sharks go rogue, attack airliners and Goodyear blimps over New York. Maverick called out of retirement as only pilot good enough to fight them. TOP GUN III: Sharks Vs Jets
let's pretend: Universal announces a screenwriting contest for Jaws 5. What's your pitch?
Photoshoot? More like crowtoshoot amirite? #birds
I swear to God, part of the problem of literacy is that we make kids read SO MANY books like this. Of course they’re going to associate reading with misery! We put them in a Skinner box and shock them when they read, what did people THINK would happen?
Having ranted about school curriculum books, I’ve just seen my son’s summer reading list, and all I can say is “I was right”. A more depressing collection would be tricky to assemble. Are we actively trying to convey to kids the idea that reading is dismal and arduous?

The true value of myths are that they transcend time and place and that by not locking them to any one time and place you can be excellent to each other and party on, dudes!
Im sorry for using Ai, BUT (Choose from below) A) I was misinformed about this blatantly obviously bad thing B) I shall explain to you how the Internet works but use big words so i appear smart. C) You didn't buy enough merch, so technically its all YOUR fault. Decisions. Decisions.
Peep is a very anxious zebra finch, so I rarely take photos of him for his own comfort. This afternoon he was exhausted from nest building and let me take a few pictures 🥹💗
Guess who stopped by and claimed a feeder to sit a spell! Mr Cardinal will be the Cardinal king when his transformation is complete. The shadows under the tree played with the light and I didn't change a thing. He is very red! 🪶
A funny thing that happened to me watching Hadestown was, one of the things I generally dislike about contemporary Broadway is how descriptive and blunt lyrics are—characters singing very plainly about what they're doing/seeing/feeling. Why don't I mind that anymore? Well... opera.
I thought I'd watch The Odyssey once it hits streaming just so I could form my own critique of it, but I frankly don't want to see it at all, ever, because I've been once again reminded of how completely insufferable and weirdly cultish Christopher Nolan fans are. You can't criticize the Great Man!
You ever feel like you're being watched? Green tree frog 🐸
So as a general rule I don't enjoy contemporary Broadway musicals. It's a very specific set of aesthetics that I just don't truck with despite loving classic musicals and opera. Hadestown solved 99% of those dislikes while still being Broadway. A truly unique and wonderful show. 🧵
One more screen picked it up, so now I can go see the only Greek myth adaptation I'm interested in seeing in theaters this summer! (It was previously only on one screen in a small auditorium for the entire city of 1m+ and all ten showings were sold out 😐)
Surprise on our walk this morning: Bayyy beee Shrike! doo doo dodoo dodoo

It's so strange to me that much of society's "lessons" is either a) behave like a cutthroat and fuck everyone except yourself yet also b) infantilize everything and luxuriate in the nostalgia of childhood
This is not cat related, but I discovered an odd bit of widespread history misinformation today. I saw a story about a very cool lady named Margaret E. Knight who was a brilliant inventor. The problem is that she was born in 1838 and this is the photo of her used in nearly every story I found.
VICTORY! Standing O to Ohioans who just gave us all an object lesson in the power of going apeshit! Organized, immediate, ongoing participation in the public comment process has sandbagged a sneaky plan to allow data centers to freely pollute water. For now. ohiocapitaljournal.com/2026/07/29/o...
Ohio citizens showed power by stopping state EPA approval for data center pollution of waterways • Ohio Capital Journal
Enraged citizens got wind of the Ohio EPA’s outrageous proposal to make it easier for massive data centers to pollute local waterways with impunity and they mobilized. They fought and won. The power o...

I've returned to Tumblr for the first time in over a decade, and on my first day back the algorithm has recommended to me a blog that's mostly sexy gifs and NSFW fanfic of Horatio Hornblower. You know what, I'm not much of a fanfic reader, but I'm following anyway for the sexy Hornblower gifs.
