wish I used a less erratic recording for this post. oh well, feels too late to delete and reupload. it's a fairly small maze and there is an end to it, I had fun designing it! I still get lost in it when I play it lol

turns out doing anything is fun again when you realize you have the free will of just not reading posts on social media
I recently learned about LÖVR and spent a day messing around with it. oh man, this is it. I think this will be my future digital playground
I don't know why I decided to put some of these words in quotation marks. I am annoying myself with the way I write
My main ideas for this was the "danger" glow that scales based on your velocity, to help you see a bit ahead as you move faster. and I've been thinking about games that don't end or reset when you "game over". the player and world state is persistent, decoupled from the "game loop".
are there any sites that feature cool new hobbyist projects (games, software, hardware, etc) but don't platform known slop?
been very slowly de-googling. now I've gotten to the big one, moving off gmail (!!)
Rez is so cool... I think it's been more influential to me than I realise. The visuals alone is peak 3D graphics in my eyes, it's the bar I want to aim for with my own work
it must be like over a decade since I last communicated with regular people (for non work/support/etc purposes) over email. it's fun!
I'm really excited for the mecha comet (phone-sized modular pocket linux computer)
not watching the apple thing but nice to hear they're apparently still doing the "you will die if you don't buy an apple watch" bit, as tradition
I've still never played a metroid game (more than the first few minutes) but that ravenous trailer also looked incredible to me. maybe it's the first one that looks like something I really want to play
not a fan of people criticizing human made art for looking like the output of something trained on human made art
one of many funny things about xenoblade 2 is how blatantly obvious it is which characters were designed by nomura. they're modeled in a completely different, more KH-esque art style from the main characters. it's making me hyper-aware that nomura designs anime characters with actual noses
The fact that I chose to engage with my work and hobby without AI gives you zero right to call me, or anyone, delusional. I’m so tired of this shit, just let the people who don’t want to use it live in peace, keep your drama to those who are attacking you. It’s the same respect you’d want.
Absolutely nobody on this planet has the right to tell me I engage with any of my creative hobbies wrong because I’m being “slow”. I will engage with them how I see fit; The world is more than keeping a fast pace and doing loads at once.
People who aren’t using AI to code at this point are delusional or lying, trying to ride a horse down the highway and backing up the traffic instead of asking “what can we do to make cars safer and electric.” They have no ethical high ground
a part of me wants to return to having all my online direct conversations done over email, with no pressure or expectation to reply quickly
