There isnt one correct way to have a relationship with art. U dont have to always love making art to make it, sometimes it will suck and it will be hard and thats okay too. Sometimes making it despite those feelings is how u enjoy it again

I love artfight so much, so many artists just sharing love for each other's characters. 💙 It's hard to describe how much genuine positivity I've seen this month, and despite it's not over yet, I'm already waiting impatiently for the next one.

It's really fun to zoom in on people's art and see all the little brushstrokes and details and tricks they used to create an effect. Once I figured out a large part of art was crearing an illusion rather than perfectly capturing reality, my work improved by leaps and bounds.

It honestly feels nice to make each Pokemon OC, especially eeveelutions, a different species in their anthro form like my Jolteon-like Joltebreon being a Jackal, Umbreon-like Jolteon a Jackrabbit, Serval Sylveon, Snep Hare Glaceon, and now Deerfox Leafeon Sawsbuck. (1/2)

Does anyone else obsess over the relationship/romance of their own OCs... but otherwise, really don't care about romance in media? Like, I will think about Fen & Cat for forever, but you ask me to watch a rom-com or read a romantasy and I will make SUCH A FACE...

I wish art fight wasnt the only time I could draw people's characters without having to ask first or having to make a post being like "hey guys can you guys give me your characters pretty please..." I like it when its a surprise and kind of a jumpscare

sorry for the rant, but as someone whose art engages with the furry fandom, there's an obvious statistical preference for MLM content so seeing the small amount of sapphic ppl be like ''im so woke i dont even engage with women characters'' quadruples the isolating feeling

i know ''it's an animal so who cares'' but let's not pretend male-default thing isn't deeply embedded into most if not all languages and even our perception of gender. i just get exposed to this more as someone who has to correct people often on my average-bodied characters being women

maybe im too woke but although jimothy is adorable, the whole thing reminds me how everyone defaults to male-gendering any creature that's not said to be female explicitly. jimothy could be a girl but all languages just default to male. i know this doesn't matter but eh it's a thing

I love seeing a beginner artists drawings but especially when its clear that they are already trying to go out of their comfort zone from the get go. You started recently and are already trying group compositions and perspective and this and that. Thats so cool and powerful, keep it up!!

As Nonbinary Awareness Week comes to an end, if you're sitting on a book, comic, any kind of story idea with a nonbinary MC, and don't think anyone would be interested in it... One thing I've learned from my readers is there are people out there desperate to be able to see themselves in something.
