I think it’s more meaningful to say “yeah, this art meant a lot to me at one point, but now that I’m older and can see the harm supporting it, I’ve moved on” vs “I never REALLY liked this art.” It’s growth to realize that something that once resonated with you has no place any more.
I really like the phrase "opposites attract" bcuz Ive seen it so many times where someone will delete their whole personality to impress someone. "I have changed everything about myself to become a perfect fit for you why don't you like me still" and it's like.. Not cute or romantic. I don't get it.
Please let artists know if they are out of your price range. In the past two months 6 people told me they'd commission me, even send me OC information. But upon learning my prices, they were never heard of again. It's fine if you can't afford it, it's just fair to tell instead of ghosting tho.
My instant red flag is if an artist talks about drawing furries and/or erotica/porn with a teehee "this is beneath me" attitude. MAN SHUT UPPPPP
Plus I plan to do my own thing I'm not changing my OCS or anything to please a wider audience. I'm drawing for me and I draw to share with others who also like what I do and like my art n OCS. Its important to draw for yourself as well when you post online 👌🏻

fucked up part about redrawing refs is that you have to redraw them. however. comparing the old to the new and finding that you DEFINITELY prefer the new + can see how your style and design choices have grown and changed is objectively Awesome, so it can't be that bad
apparently it's normal for the art style/s you love to be vastly different from the one you draw in. case in point, if my recents are my style-to-be, my loved styles are grim noir comics, hyperrealism, oil, etc. i don't LOVE the style, but i can actually draw in it, so. necessary evil? just normal?
Animals are sentient btw. What you mean to say your feral characters are is "sapient". It's not really a pedantic thing either, it's just objectively wrong to use sentient that way. And you're basically calling real animals (who feel and experience things) objects by saying they aren't sentient
