My first outing as an international lead table beer judge was a pretty special thing to do on what would have been my dad’s 90th 🤍 I know how proud he’d be (even though working in beer was not his top career choice for me!) and I know how lucky I am to know that ❤️ cheers 🍻

10yrs ago a huge coterie of family, friends & the community of Swindon came together to celebrate my wonderful father’s 80th birthday ❤️ Today would have been his 90th 💙 I’m beer judging because, as he always said, life goes on, but he’s with me every second 🤍

Love love loved Clementine in Edmonton - a French bistro-style cocktail bar with chic decor & terrifically imaginative mixology - everything was so good but extra pleased by the delightfully surprising parsnip-forward Terroso 👌🏽🍸

Pulled off a rather nice cocktail & outfit pairing move yesterday at lovely Plume Bar with their highly inventive Tanager made w tequila blanco, sherry, midori & green chartreuse 💚🍸

Our Ukrainian food craving was superbly satiated at the truly lovely Don’ya restaurant in Edmonton ❤️🥟 🇺🇦 Such wonderful service and delicious authentic food 👌🏽

My Canada beer-judging peeps pegged Edmonton’s Blind Enthusiasm Brewing mixed-ferm specialists as a must-visit & they are 💯 on point 😋🍻 Our whole flight is heavenly but special shout-outs to the sumptuous Still Cardamom & tannic-funk-tastic Shiro Plum - once we’re coming back for the tour 👌🏽❤️

First Edmonton stop is the leafy breezy Ale Architects patio 😊🍻 Such a joy to sit outside without sweating (sorry fellow Texans!) & great brews to boot - my top pick is the beautifully balanced delicate stone fruit-pepper-funky Field Notes table beer 👌🏽🍻

We started our Alberta adventure with chili paneer, momos & Wild Rose Velvet Fog - a bright, gently tangy local wheat ale that paired splendidly 😊👍🏽🍻🥟 After that there was a very long drive!
