Wife and kids left me hanging with the dogs again as they take another weekend trip, ferrying across the Delaware Bay for the exotic environs of the Jersey Shore. Lucy the Elephant. ✓ Wildwood broadwalk. ✓ Irish potatoes. ✓ Animatronics. ✓

Ooh, I like this puzzle! More of this please, NYT.
The first stage of the equine triathlon as they exit the water and head for their bikes. That part they never show.
I haven't seen "Bosom Buddies" since probably the 1980s or '90s, and I never noticed (but maybe I did notice but just forgot) that Peter Scolari rode a unicycle in the intro (though I knew Scolari had juggling skills¹). But today my eyes were opened thanks to an Adult Swim parody.
Nancy Priddy, right, on "Barnaby Jones" (S2 E13, 1973). "Who?" you ask.
Kept seeing this Bell Boeing V-22¹ Osprey during work. I guess it was practicing take-offs and landings. ¹ I knew it was an Osprey, but this crap I had to look up.
Came across this tank at work. It was headed back to the pond it terrorizes (I've seen a duck pulled under, its carcass popping up days later).
There’s nothing like getting a tornado warning on your phone at midnight. Stoopid weather. Tornado Alley USA is definitely creeping eastward/northward, where all the cool people live. This activity needs to stay in Flyover Country, where it belongs. This is the actual border control that is needed.
"Wheel of Death" (S10 E21), featuring juggler Jimi Defilippis¹, left, is the absolute best episode of "Murder, She Wrote," which isn't saying much, but still ... fight me! ¹ Defilippis is the real-life son-in-law of Ron Masak, who played Sheriff Metzger and was a Lou Costello impersonator.
The more I look at this, the weirder it is. From the American Treasure Tour Museum.
The wife and kids went to a weird-ass museum outside Philadelphia today. Son No. 2 is really into cheesy animotronics and he wanted to go. I had never heard of it. It's also very mysterious. According to Wikipedia, it's the collection of a single anonymous person. I bet it's Jeffrey Epstein.

Your semi-regular reminder that Lee Grant, shown here in one of the "Columbo" pilot episodes, "Ransom for a Dead Man" (1971), is still alive. Age unknown (but hoovering around 100). Her actress daughter, Dinah Manoff, is confirmed at 70 years old, so Grant is definitely up there.
World Cup star Erling Haaland was born in Leeds, how close was he to playing for England? (Gift Article)
He was born in Leeds, spent the first years of his life there, and plays for an English club. Could it have been different for Haaland?

I absolutely know what category this square belongs in: THINGS THAT ARE AWESOME AND IN NO WAY DORKISH.
I'm onto the second book in Roth's The American Trilogy. All I'm asking for is two things: 1. There had better be a marriage. 2. There had better be a commie. If the author satisfies those conditions, then I'll be happy.
Kane og England er ferdige. Haaland & Co. tar dette. Garantert. Gratulerer, Norge. #ETTD

Finished "American Pastoral" this morning, and I'm 59 percent through "Intermezzo." I only read R authors. It's a whole community. We call ourselves Arthurs. You're welcome to join, unless you're a Potterhead. That's just weird, sad and pathetic.
Just your normal Fourth of July with the sound of illegal fireworks plus stealth bombers, various military aircraft and Air Faux One: Qatari Edition™ (didn't get a photo) flying holding-pattern loops overhead. We live about 85 miles, as the crow flies, from Washington, D.C. Did not see any crows.
Are the #ThreeStooges exceedingly short or are the three actors opposite them especially tall? #MeTV
The same procedure as last year, Mark? The same procedure as every year, H&I.
Watching the annual Fourth of July "Twilight Zone" marathon on H&I, and this year they finally came up with a punderful tagline to justify the connection between the holiday and the show. H&I also does a New Year's Day marathon, as of now tagline-free ... until now.
Neste gang!
Dagens lesestoff. Ikke spør.
Otter: [to Boon] 30 years? Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
We fully exited the depression in 1941 when we entered WWII.
