Our nation’s greatness starts in our schools, the very foundation of our democracy. My heart is heavy from the senseless and tragic gun violence, suicide, and murder that took place in our spaces for learning this week. Let’s do better, together, across our differences, for our young people.

I spent 10 days with a bunch of teens on a river with no internet, and I also just dropped off my one and only kid at college. I’m having a lot of big feels. My headline? The kids are alright. They’re more than that - they’re awesome, and they give me so much heart and hope. #onwardandupward

Today, Senate Republicans passed the one big, devastatingly ugly tax & spending bill: ⬆️ hunger ⬆️ health challenges ⬆️ poverty ⬆️ debt The Trump Administration is also *illegally* withholding $6.8 billion in education funding from our states, our schools, our kids that should have gone out today. 😡

Yesterday I attended a rally in support of our trans kids and community - Sec McMahon was at what was supposed to be a Title IX event (yay Title IX!), but it was really an anti-trans event, kicking off an anti-trans bus ride across NM (during Pride Month). We stand with ALL our kids in our schools!
