My hobbies include pausing a movie whenever a specific dollar amount is mentioned and looking up how much it’s worth today. Gotta be clear of what the stakes are to the characters!

In Frosty the Snowman (1969), Karen and Frosty try to buy one ticket to the North Pole, and without batting an eye at the talking snowman with articulated limbs, this scam artist tries to send them zig-zagging across Canada for three thousand dollars and four cents. This is over $25,000 today.

Image from Frosty the Snowman where Karen and Frosty stand at the ticket window and the ticket man tells them the absurd total.

Turned last night’s double feature of (1) Gladiator II and (2) Wicked Part 1 into a triple feature by coming home and watching THE WICKED WITCH OF THE EAST, BRO (2018) on repeat. Cinema. 📽️
