Do I know anyone on here that works on the ArcGIS app? Or knows someone who might?
It feels good to be on stage again after a few months off, ending the year with a bang on the @yowconf.bsky.social roadshow #YOW25 This time I've even brought my own entourage, with our whole family having a few adventures along the way
The recent commotion around Tylenol and autism reminded me how many neurotypicals are so uninformed about neurodivergence they think neurodivergent conditions (autism, ADHD, OCD etc) are some sort of plague that you can catch if youβre not careful enough.
Change of pace this Friday while I'm at @microsoft.com Perth helping out at VSCode Dev Days for @github.com Copilot
This was the final slide from my Reasons To Be Cheerful talk yesterday at #DDDPerth and it seems to have resonated with a lot of people so Iβm sharing it here.
A very full on day but a wonderful one, back at the stadium for #DDDPerth 2025! It's been such a pleasure to be involved with @dddperth.bsky.social over the past 8 years and to see such support from the community Congrats to the entire committee, we did it again! Now for a well deserved rest
And closing up the day, @rendle.dev is reminding us of all the reasons we still have to be cheerful in the world today at @dddperth.bsky.social #DDDPerth
Kicking off @dddperth.bsky.social for 2025, wearing a dress printed in code snippets that she has based her talk off π€― #DDDPerth
Getting the final things ready for @dddperth.bsky.social this weekend and taking a look at my name badges from previous years (I swear I should have a 2017 one somewhere) Just a couple more days before I can add another to the collection!
Do people genuinely group their browser tabs together? I feel like the only time I ever have a group is when I accidentally make one by dragging a tab wrong and I genuinely haven't ever felt a need for this feature
It must be getting close to @dddperth.bsky.social because Speaker Training has now begun! Over the next month, @jake.ginnivan.net and myself will be working with the speakers to help them prepare for the big day!
So excited that @rendle.dev is joining us all the way in Perth next month!
β¨ Keynote drop for #DDDPerth 2025! β¨ Rendle is bringing the joy, the laughs, and the tech wisdom in βReasons To Be Cheerful: 0, 1, 2β¦β π€ This keynote is gonna be smart, funny, and full of good vibes. Donβt miss it. Youβll leave smiling. π
Tired of wondering if your front-end tests actually run? π§ͺ @amyskapers.dev shows how to use GitHub Actions to spin up live previews, run front-end tests on every PR, and build bulletproof CI/CD workflows at #YOW25 β¨ MEL 4-5 Dec | BNE 8-9 Dec | SYD 11-12 Dec yowcon.com
while the current official number is hotly debated, there are actually far more tags in HTML than the ~150 commonly cited! that number merely represents the ones weβve discovered and domesticated β there are potentially thousands more in the creeping unexplored corners of the deep web & dark net
Reminder that it's 1 million times easier & better to just use a semantic HTML element where they exist No faffing about with JavaScript, attributes, ARIA, hacks and workarounds. It just works.
A very packed room this morning at #AgentCon as we kick off with a session on Agents, Automating, Copilots and why we should actually care about them
Your design will be tested by users - your only choice is whether to run the test yourself before launch - @jominney.bsky.social #NDCOslo
@jominney.bsky.social got into web development because building websites is WAY more fun than rocks π€£ @ndcconferences.com #NDCOslo
Lemon is recommending some cool CSS only demos on @codepen.io and I see @mandymichael.bsky.social and her Text Effects demos π€©
While some front end developers might consider themselves artists, we're really just putting boxes in boxes - Lemon #NDCOslo
Last day of @ndcconferences.com #NDCOslo this week and Lemon is talking about all the amazing things we have now in CSS π₯³
@philna.sh is discovering why you shouldn't work with children, animals or generative AIs π€£ @ndcconferences.com
Actually making it to a talk for a change, seeing if @philna.sh can make my life easier teaching us how to build an AI agent at @ndcconferences.com
Watching @damianm.com get physically restrained in the audience to stop him from interrupting someone who said something wrong about agile at #DDDAdelaide π€£
@larsklint.bsky.social is talking feature release techniques and tools at #DDDAdelaide and apparently no one understands @jakeginnivan.bsky.social's architecture The audience has collectively agrees that Jake probably does at least π€£
Really enjoying @larene.dev's keynote on # accessibility at #DDDAdelaide this morning! So many excellent points and stories, it really is an important topic we need to keep in mind with everything we build
