Happening now in Chicago: community members and activists are in the La Villita/Little Village neighborhood to demonstrate against continued ICE violence in across the country. In just the last two weeks, ICE agents have killed 2 men. A 3rd died running from agents, and a 4th died in ICE custody.

On Friday, CPD officials sat before Chicago’s Committee on Immigrant and Refugee Rights and assured alders that they didn’t need to investigate Border Patrol agent Charles Exum’s shooting of Marimar Martinez because the FBI was on it.

BREAKING NYT: Federal agents around the country were told in recent days that the FBI would no longer investigate confrontations with immigration agents — cases that sometimes yield evidence that could be used to prosecute DHS agents implicated in violent encounters.

It's just before 9am in Chicago. Kidnappings by masked federal police continue (and continue, and continue). So far this morning, agents have been spotted in Back of the Yards and West Ridge.

Live posting from Albany Park today 85 degrees out and we’re at the ribbon cutting ceremony of the brand new Ronan park gateway. What is supposed to be a symbolic ceremony and celebration with music and neighbors gathering, it seems like the topic of the is the encampment behind the structure.

New: Chicago finance chair Pat Dowell has written to Mayor Brandon Johnson, saying a proposed ownership transfer of Chicago's privatized parking meter system to Stonepeak Partners doesn't have the necessary support to go forward. Stonepeak owns Omni Air, which conducts ICE deportation flights.

Just so this doesn’t get lost in the thread, there were unconfirmed reports in RR networks of gunshots heard, but so far it seems like this was not the case.

Per CPD dispatch audio, police received a call for shots fired related to this incident. But Chicago police who responded to the scene reported no shots fired to CPD dispatch after speaking to a DHS agent, and also reported they found no shell casings. Krueger also denied hearing any shots fired.

The resident who shared the video, Edward Krueger, also provided a photo of the crashed red car. We arrived on scene hours later, after 2 pm. But signs of the collision were still evident.

Earlier today rapid responders reported federal agents detaining someone on Grace & Olcott in Chicago. A nearby resident got video of an unmarked SUV striking a red car at high speed in the residential area around 10:24 am. He then described seeing men in tactical vests on scene, one marked "ICE."

Happening now in Albany Park: Protesters are gathering in the corner of Kedzie and Lawrence to protest ICE’s increasing activity in Chicago. On Tuesday morning a man was was taken by federal agents by this intersection, sparking two days of protests and demonstrations.

Federal immigration agents are still swamping Chicagoland. Sightings in multiple city neighborhoods and in the suburbs today, with reports of at least three people being taken. "ICE is everywhere," the immigrant advocacy/rapid response group Hijos de Migrantes posted in an alert earlier today.
