Do I know anybody doing film studies in Toronto? Or do you know anyone there? I'm looking for a contact to organise a visit and would appreciate help.

I think a lot about how Aaron Swartz committed suicide while facing a probably long jail sentence for download some of JSTOR, but no one at Meta is going to face any repercussions for using all of Libgen to train its AI.
Someone else said something very similar to this the other day, but. It really burns me that our (millennials') generation was legally terrorized for like, downloading Radiohead discographies But we're supposed to be ok with billionaires stealing human intellectual output in its entirety bc AI
Once again, I find myself wishing there was more talk about neurodivergent researchers and conferences and maybe a little guide on how to keep sane. Who wants to write it with me?
And you did a great job too!
Just presented my paper “Lived Spaces and Emotional Geographies: Toronto as Psychological Landscape in Sarah Polley’s Take This Waltz” at the #RealandImaginedSpacesinFilm conference — such a great experience! Huge thanks to my colleagues at @spacescinema.bsky.social for the fantastic organization!
Ayer avisé de que había una paloma muerta junto a la entrada de filosofía y letras y 24h después ahí sigue. Con 36 grados además. @www.unizar.es

For Celestino Deleyto, film space has palimpsestic potential
Loved seeing Celestino Deleyto’s montages of shots from films set in Marseille and his photos of the same locations. #RealandImaginedSpacesInFilm

Signed my permanent contract yesterday after what sometimes seemed like a neverending chain of precarious, short-term contracts. I am happy, grateful and relieved, but also angry at all the hoops I had to jump through.
De vez en cuanto tengo que autogenerarme alguna risilla dando feedback
I have been very quiet, but I had a good reason. Over the moon to finally be a permanent lecturer at @filoinglesauz.bsky.social

Something unexpected about disclosing my ADHD diagnosis in class is that some students nod at me in recognition or wait for me after class to talk about their preferred fidget toys. Self-disclosure matters.
Today after class a student said this lecture could be a whole module. Glad to have been able to spark someone’s interest on neurodiversity today 💖
Today my master students worked on developing intercultural competence through film and we analysed a clip from Party Girl. A student said I blossomed.
Can’t wait to hear Kieran Culkin’s Oscar speech
Qué bien lo pasamos ayer con Miguel Sebastián y qué ilusión me hizo ver a tantas alumnas de máster en la charla.
