I've done many podcasts about 'The Traveller' but I really loved 'Travels Through Time' with Peter Moore. 1 year (1772) & 3 scenes (Jan 1772, 2 Somerset Stable Yard, London; 11 July 1772, Plymouth harbour; 10 Dec 1772, Latitude: 51° 37’ S, Longitude: 25°28’E). andreawulf.com/interviews-r...

Great review of The Traveller in The Irish Times: "An awe-inspiring biography ... All of these exotic places and encounters and philosophical discourses are masterfully recounted by Wulf, who weaves Forster’s original journals together with her own graceful prose”

I've never been to Nürnberg (I know ...) but I loved it. I had more than 300 people come to my talk @germanisches_nationalmuseum last night & a wonderful walk through town. Lovely museums, churches & town walls.

Great review about The Traveller @nature.com:“Who ‘the traveller’ is in the book remains wonderfully blurry - is it Forster? Wulf? Or the reader? Each route ends with the same conclusion: that travel can help to calibrate your moral compass. Deep hanging out with The Traveller is time well spent”

Back in my hometown for a few days... I do love to sit in a cafe with my feet in the sand opposite the harbour watching ships pass by. Cranes, ships, dogs ... „Industrieromantik". It helps that the sun shines #Hamburg

Great review of "The Traveller" in @nybooks.com by Jenny Uglow. “An exhilarating work of historical imagination, recording the life of an extraordinary traveler, writer, and revolutionary figure with rare vitality and power” www.nybooks.com/articles/202...

Wonder & Disillusion | Jenny Uglow

The naturalist George Forster was fascinated by plants and animals, but he was also driven by a passionate belief in the rights of all people regardless of race, gender, or social status.
