I’ll be reading a little from ‘When the light of the world was subdued, our songs came through’ edited by Joy Harjo and others for the rest of this year’s #sealeychallenge. Here are a few I’ve really appreciated so far from the opening Northeast and Midwest section.
I asked my niece what she thought about her trip to Chicago this summer. She said she liked being outside without it being hot. That crushed me to hear. The joy robbed of children by fossil fuel companies must see justice in our lifetime.
I don’t have a big reason about why I do what I do. I like learning, I like sharing what I’ve learned. And I love poetry because language is insanely interesting. I wish I could smush all the words to make them kiss and live in bliss.
