Super excited to see our new paper published today, led by @shahidyounis.bsky.social as part of his MSc work. We present the glacial and periglacial geomorphology of the Drang Drung, Haskira, and Pensilungpa glaciers in the Indian Himalayas. www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
Glacial and periglacial geomorphology of the Drang Drung, Haskira, and Pensilungpa glaciers, Trans-Himalayan Ladakh, India
Glacial geomorphological mapping is vital for understanding the role of glaciers in shaping landscapes, as well as glacier response to climate change. We present a glacial geomorphological map of t...

How do extreme ENSO events affect Antarctic surface mass balance?
Abstract. Extreme El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) events have far-reaching impacts globally, yet their impacts on Antarctica are poorly understood. In particular, how extreme ENSO events influence...

Air bubbles trapped in glacier ice recently calved off Brewster Glacier in Aotearoa / New Zealand. We don’t know the age of this ice but I estimate a few centuries - suggesting the bubbles would record pre-industrial CO2 levels.

Today we were privileged to be visited by Kirrae Wurrung/ Bundjalung Elder Uncle Lionel Lauch, who carried out an Acknowledgment of Country and Smoking Ceremony in the @monashuniversity.bsky.social Earth Science Garden. We are grateful for his generosity to share knowledge so central to our School.
A reminder about this rare opportunity- closing 2nd May!
