It's something Meltzer has explicitly copped to and I think holds true for a lot of media pundits as well: the Fed gets rated on a sliding scale relative only to itself. Guys can wrestle like trash and it only matters in the context of other recent Fed events, not the broader competitive field.

He is the Ace of AEW. That man lifted up everyone in it, the locker room, the fans, and helped elevate a fledgling company in and of itself, when fragile minds, fragile bodies, and fragile egos threw tantrums in the back.
Everywhere that dude goes, people are better for it. He advocated for better pay for indie wrestlers. He's mentored and elevated countless wrestlers in AEW. He went and kicked ass IN THE G1, a relentlessly grueling, and badass tournament, one of the best hallmarks of pro wrestling.
Jon Moxley left a secure but boring gig to help pioneer a revolution that would change the world. He shocked the world by showing up at the first Double or Nothing, living AEW from Day One. He went to NJPW. He went to GCW. He toured the world of pro wrestling, because he lives & breathes that shit
And then roman basically parroted the same thing. The only thing that matters is blind loyalty.
I like how their one criterion for being great is never leaving. Didn't talk about their ability or their personality. Just their loyalty.
And then they both did Mox spots because he's a more influential star than either of them will ever be.
