1,144 uninsured vehicles seized across Northamptonshire in last 5 months. 600 disposed of — on top of penalty points & rocketing premiums. Why is this important? Well.. Uninsured drivers are 7x more likely to be in a fatal crash, more likely to flee the scene & over half are linked to other crime.

And importantly… every single reporter was updated with the outcome of their report. Why? Well…It gives clarity, improves future reporting, encourages more reports — and it’s just good manners!!

In 2025, Northamptonshire Police seized 2,540 uninsured vehicles, and disposed of 1,256. Driving uninsured signals risk-taking & links to wider criminality—posing real danger & undermining safe travel. This enforcement tackles their criminality and risk but also serves law abiding insurance payers.
