Last night, me and @missjennylizzie.bsky.social beat Sonic Superstars. It's become one of my favorites. I still prefer CD and especially 3&K, idk if I prefer it over 2 though. But I prefer it over 1 and Mania.

Was replaying Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3, back to slightly preferring the latter. 2's still amazing, but OMFG Red-Hot Ride is such a slog.

ngl even if companies were far more consistent with game preservation, emulation would still have gotten big. Especially with romhacking, which people do very cool stuff with.

With that said I'd rank the classic games as... 3&K > CD > 2 = Superstars > 1 > Mania Mania's good, but it felt more spectacle focused.

Metal Sonic Hyperdrive is a pretty cool Sonic hack that gives Metal Sonic his own unique adventure. I found this repro cart a while back and it’s neat playing on an actual Genesis. Who else has played this one?

Surprising pick but no joke the worst game I ever played, most of the level design is filled with dead-ends and one-ways. And depending what routes you go, either enemies show-up at the worst time or you're locked out of beating the level.
