Up the hill past 694 At the stone wall make a left.

Visited Stotfold, Beds Green-flowered Helleborines only to find whole colony (and significant area of woodland floor) in the process of being trashed by dumping of waste soil from a nearby development. Work now stopped til Mon when I'll have to try to speak with council... @ukorchids.bsky.social

Four-spotted, Aethes hartmanniana and Nemophora fasciella in south Cambs today, and Grapholita pallifrontana from 23/05. I've been bumping into hartmanniana and fasciella in lots of places recently, belying their supposedly scarce status - worth looking out for both of these at the moment #TeamMoth

Bits from out and about this week - Sedge Warbler, Roe Deer and some slightly awkward Dotterels. Oilseed rape seems to have undergone a step change this year in its ability to self-seed absolutely everywhere - I expect this isn't a good thing, but it does add some nice colour to a photo.

A nice bimble on Therfield Heath in the late afternoon sun - box-fresh Brown Argus maybe Herts' first of the year, Small Coppers always a pleasure, and the earliest county record by a week of the localised Small Purple-barred moth. And just now, at home, Swiiiiiiiift!!! @bc-hertsmiddx.bsky.social
