After hearing @add-hawk.bsky.social on multiple podcasts and his childlike sense of wonder bouncing from topic to topic, I had to read his book The Score. It helped me to understand the why of my lifelong enjoyment of games and identified what I’d call a cousin of cognitive bias: bureaucracy bias.

Finished cuphead + DLC last night. Can’t remember the last time a game put me in to that much of a flow state. I only looked up two boss videos for reference on strategy because the game communicated patterns well and made it clear it was a matter of git gud. Delightful art and animation.
Never been accused of being a baker, but these chocolate chip with allulose swapped in for sugar came out splendid!

The launch of the NES is a crazier story than most people realize, and my guests were extremely generous with their memories.

Thoroughly enjoyed @seanmcarroll.bsky.social discussion with Dmitri Tymoczko on the underlying mathematical relationships in music composition being ignorant in musical theory myself. Gives an even greater appreciation for the intuitive understand of some of history’s greatest talents in the field.
Wrapped up Silent Hill 2 Remake. First played the original on Xbox over 20 years ago. This one holds up well and the story hits just as hard, now with an adult’s perspective. Congrats Bloober Team.
