I used to have a pain, not a terrible one but always there - in some tmi part of just being human. No great ache or distress, just a sting that momentarily took my breath away. Not even that, just a little gasp. But it cut moments in two, now it’s gone. I woke at 3am to potter in continuity.

There are a bunch of you who have near perfect doppelgängers in other folk I follow and I’m honestly terrified of the idea of introducing you. What if one’s made of antimatter?

Hey have you set up, checked and tested your backups? Automated them? Made sure they’re running? Checked the whole cascade works if you have that? Any backup is infinitely better than none.

Imagine a computer like a PDP-11 but with more than 3 billion SP4T switches. The switches are various combinations of 'magic' and 'more magic' the authors of the code are dead, there are no comments except for old code, and sometimes the comments run anyway and it's wet this is biology.

it seems kinda creepy that I have 100% of my father’s sex chromosome DNA. Like dude I’m your first kid and I got ALL of it?! But only 75% of my mother’s. But that’s 234M base pairs from mum, and only 213Mb from dad. So not too dissimilar. I’m like a man and a woman had a baby or something.

Flying foxes are threatened species across Australia. But the place where we're staying is their breeding ground. I wish I could capture the sound of millions of flying foxes surrounding you. But it's so loud, it blows out my mic. It's like that scene from Gremlins 2 when they're all in the lobby.

Imagining a horror movie - “Toy Collector Story” where toys from the last century kept in their boxes get out and go on an epic revenge quest against the people who kept them there - and all their descendants. Andy’s good toys must protect him from their doppelgängers Sheriff Splinter and Buzz Cut.

if there were tools that could reliably tell the difference, we wouldn't see this much spending on this kind of old, analog data grab that's *guaranteed* to be free from AI poisoning, because the detection tools could filter it but we see them doing this, and so, can infer about the tools efficacy

In so many ways — AI detectors aren't a thing. bsky.app/profile/nano... Detectors probably have better than even odds at picking AI from a large group of writing. But they're as useless individually as "tall, therefore male", "long hair, therefore female" or "fewer limbs therefore old".

So I woke up this morning to find out that Ozzy Osbourne’s son made a video falsely accusing me of using AI to write a Rolling Stone article about the Tate brothers.

There are, as expected, no studies on endometriosis in trans women. But considering it is the spreading of endometrial tissues which is facilitated by estrogen. It's always good to keep an eye out. Never let people tell you the pain you're facing is "normal/expected". It shouldn't hurt at all.

This is good advice for anyone. If a person or situation seems off leave. I once had a doctor's appointment and when he came in I could tell he was upset and agitated. Did I leave? No. Did I have to repeat a painful medical procedure because the first doctor fucked up? Yes. Be smarter than me.

Dear young adults,
You can leave.
If you don't like your doctor, walk out in the middle of your appointment.

Leave the party. End the date. Don't wait until the "polite time" to leave or endure because you think you'll make a scene.

You can go.

You wanna know about me scars? Yeah, nah. Dad was a pisstank and a right cunt, right? And one night he's going off, mad as a cut snake. Mum grabs a knife but he's not having it. So he's carving her up and he's just cacking himself when he turns to me like "what's your bloody problem?"
