Roughly 2 in five Americans still stand by Donald Trump. That's consistent when you break it down to the working class: 2 in five. Swear to god, these people would take a bullet for him and go down smiling. It's not a political point of view; it's a disorder.

Apple got a $2.2 billion tariff refund. Amazon got $600 million. Trump is sending the "refunds" to the companies, not working people. Every single cent of these refunds should go back to American consumers.

I've been following these very public discussions; parsing the line btwn refusal to body-shame and necessary calling out of "thinspo" culture. Tough call w/important feminist underpinnings. This is interesting: AI via Google takes a definitive stance where ED specialists/survivors are divided. 1/3

AI Overview Zendaya does not have an eating disorder or weight disorder; she has naturally attributed her slim build to genetics, a fast metabolism, and a lifelong vegetarian diet.Public Body-Shaming ScrutinyUnfounded claims: Critics and public figures have occasionally made speculative remarks online accusing her of having an eating disorder due to her thin frame.Zendaya's response: She has actively defended her natural body type and previously criticized media outlets for digitally altering her photos to make her look even thinner.Body Image and HealthNatural build: Commentators and fans note that her tall and slender physique reflects her family's genetics rather than unhealthy habits.Dietary lifestyle: She has followed a vegetarian diet since she was nine years old out of a love for animals, though she maintains an otherwise normal and active lifestyle

Anybody good with dream symbolism? Eleanor Roosevelt and Zelda Fitzgerald came to my house, and silently judged me for forgetting to take their coats. Then I discovered I didn't have enough coat hangers. I'm thinking no more power bars before bed. But I'm open to other translations.

This pic from Huffpo depicts every MAGA's fantasy: berating the shit out of one of those overeducated smart-ass know-it-alls who think they're better than you because they went to school and don't have to work for a living. To sit in power and publicly tell those elitist snobs off - pure wet dream.

The best part of this rant was millionaire Bernie Moreno telling the world that he was so infuriated sitting on his couch in 2020 watching Anthony Fauci save people's lives that he had no choice but to sell off all his many car dealerships and run for the Senate. #Hero #Saint #Self-Sacrifice

"Patrick, a writer living in New York, told me about a wedding he’d recently attended, where he saw an old friend wearing a pair. His group of friends told their pal that they wouldn’t talk to him until he took them off."

Hahaha, @vox.com nails this beautifully: "The plight of owning 'pervert glasses' when you’re not a pervert." www.vox.com/culture/4966... Of course, the solution asserts itself pretty quickly: don't buy the damned things. Zuck doesn't need the money nor the encouragement.

Tired of people dropping dead when I'm not looking; I'm re-establishing contact with everyone I've been taking for granted. Had my first long chat in *years* w/ a friend I just adore. Among so much else I learned the fate of a pair of painted shoes I gave her some 30 yrs ago. First: the originals:

Vividly painted high heel shoes with fabric, paper mache, and fabric trim.

www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/... Imagine being barred from voting on laws that ruled your life behind bars and for people who'd change them. While predators reel in $1.4 billion in exorbitant telephone fees from prisoners' families. And all this, too (links fact-checked). They vote AND lobby.

Broader Prison Profiteering IndustriesCommissary and Telecom: Specialized vendors selling phone calls, tablets, and goods to incarcerated individuals generate upwards of $5.6 billion annually.

Private Detention: For-profit prison management corporations like CoreCivic and The GEO Group secure multi-million dollar net incomes via government detention contracts.

Inmate Labor Wages: Incarcerated workers are paid an average daily wage of roughly $0.86, substantially lowering production overhead for participating industries.

I had an elderly friend who'd lived alone, so he'd installed Echo in every room in case he needed to call for help. One time I'd stayed over, I asked if to turn off the guest room lights. It did. Instinctively I said "thank you." When it answered with a musical "you're welcome" I freaked the f- out.

I've given my man heaping rations of grief for treating the Echo like it's human. He seems genuinely fond of it, which is - well, odd to say the least, and not something I'd ever do. Then last night I had a long ChatGPT interaction trying to find the right ADHP productivity app. Well. 1/2
