Hopefully this truly awful situation can also bring attention to how the policies she's supported (including abortion bans/opposing no-fault divorce) can be life-threatening for women in similar situations:

I want to add that I’m glad the gatekeeping process of peer review worked (in this case—the author(s) can always try again somewhere else). But it’s still a massive failure that the study took place at all. And the victims of the researcher(s) were already harmed.
Sexual violence is not a crime committed by evil boogeymen. It’s a crime committed by people trying to seek approval from powerful figures who hold (and reward) sexist beliefs. With AI, there’s less of a chance for our own morals to stop us.
AI-facilitated sexual violence is still sexual violence. That‘s true of deep fakes, digital harassment campaigns, and (I can’t believe I have to say this) simulated sexual assaults. I don’t even have words for what I just read.
Nothing like going to report to the cops and then the cops automatically being on your perpetrator’s side and interrogating you *the victim* as the suspect. Not to mention, cops retaliate with lawsuits for filing “false” complaints

Exploitation is only the beginning. It is the systemic colonization of land, air and water. These AI centers are impossible to live around due to health hazards. It is to further push people out of their homes.

I believe in structure not helplessness. It is an insult to the bravery of feminists, Dalits, working class activists of all kinds to suggest that they somehow faced fewer forms of dependency and thus had greater political autonomy. The upper echelons of any society have fewer not more excuses.
There are no carve-outs or middle ground in the face of fascism. You either resist or you don’t. It is an absolutist ideology and there is only an absolutist response. You either believe all people are inherently valuable and act accordingly or you do not. It is that simple.
Hindutva is built on caste solidarity which ultimately holds that patriarchal kinship and caste ties triumph every other kind of morality. I absolutely reject this. If you think your casteist/Islamophobic relative is more important than the LIVES of non-upper caste Hindus, you have no moral compass.
if trans women are male, but they are getting these records, then "sex" must not matter. if you insist "sex" does matter, then trans women must be female. both are unviable as challenges to male supremacy by positioning "sex" as incoherent, or socially mediated at best.

So, I used to help domestic violence survivors get civil protection orders. I can say confidently that the answer to every one of this jackass’s rhetorical questions about whether a “real” victim of domestic violence would behave toward an abuser the way his ex behaved toward him is… yes. 100%.
