Dear #Vermont voters, there are two amendments to the Vermont Constitution which will be on the ballot in November. One is about the right to collective bargaining, the other is about equal protection/treatment under the law (which it should have had already). governor.vermont.gov/press-releas...

Vermont librarian. Technology hobbyist. I love the post office. Fix your hearts. Live in hope if you can.
I've mentioned in the past that I sponsored a local female race car driver and put pro-library messages on the car. They did a "pit party" where kids could come through, see the cars, etc. Andrea got book stickers made so all the kids could sign her car. Truly some of my best library outreach work.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

Does anyone know how I can get ahold of Charlie Bailey to see if he'll share his slides? (yes I've tried his workplace website, the usual socials, checking to see if he had a website, yes I've seen his LinkedIn, we have no mutuals). If so, please let me know. And check out this library program idea.

Here is my Jane Yolen story. I grew up reading her books. Greyling is my favorite. My mom went to see her read at a local bookstore and had her inscribe a book to me when I was basically just born. Her inscription was prescient. May her memory be a blessing. 📚
Our state Department of Libraries just announced the passage of a new law (S.232). It went through five committees. Among other improvements, it establishes a Vermont Libraries Day on the third Monday in October (Ed Emberley's bday this year)and it's both a little thing and also a HUGE DEAL. 📚
