Parapatric distributions and photos of Abronia villosa var. aurita and Abronia villosa var. villosa across the Transverse Mountain Ranges of Southern California. Also, a phylogeny showing evidence that Abronia villosa var. aurita was derived through budding speciation (monophyletic derivative species nested within a paraphyletic progenitor species).
