real petpeeve lately: anyone who mentions balatro and vampire survivors in the same breath as if they're equally illustrative of the same problem has simply not played either of them, im afraid let alone if they focus primarily on balatro and only mention vampire survivors as a secondary example

games are cool because they're like the only medium where the audience can prove they almost objectively understand the work better than the creator does. it's basically inevitable, even. if you beat sakurai at smash, consistently (and any pro smash player could), there's really no contesting that.
