My advice for alt text! You want to give the person the same experience as a sighted person. So if it’s a very well known meme for example and most people just glance and know I’ll just say the template and what words are edited in. whereas with an elaborate visual joke I thoroughly describe

I really wanted to stay out of this but I am not seeing people sharing resources on how to write alt text, which is intimidating for some people (and that’s okay!). Short version: Describe it like you’re telling someone across the room. 🧵
