Last night, my agent got a scam email about me, asking if I would like to be featured in a book club. Authors have been getting these for months, but this is the first time I’ve heard of an agent getting one on behalf of a client.
I received a new scam email attempt today—supposedly from a Simon and Schuster editor. A real Simon and Schuster editor would know that I already have a Simon and Schuster editor.

Katie Slivensky@kslivensky.bsky.social · 3mo agoThe world remains hard and if you're like me, the weight of that can overwhelm. It's okay if you need to shut out the news for a little while to keep your efforts going. It doesn't make you uncaring. You know full well you care. But you can't help the world if you're flailing in the crashing waves.
In one way, I don't want a 10-1 Virginia because I know that doesn't reflect reality of how Virginians break out politically. But we couldn't stay idle either. I'll keep hoping that after the census we'll be in a place where we can return to normalcy.
