Dogs, trail running & cloud native this and that
On #LinkedIn, I shared a preview of @edera.dev's next generation of testing infrastructure, which we have brought in house for efficiency reasons. www.linkedin.com/feed/update/...

Really happy with the reception that Sprout has received! This was a passion project of mine for the last few months, and to see the interest in collaboration is massive. Now imagine what we can do when Sprout supports TUF :3
I’m very excited to announce Sprout, an open-source UEFI bootloader from @edera.dev that can reduce bootloader times to milliseconds, now available to try today! edera.dev/stories/spro...
TOMORROW! 🐋 Night at the Aquarium with The New Stack, Blacksmith, @edera.dev, @minimus.io, @syntasso.io, and @tailscale.com. This #KubeCon reception blends networking with deep-sea wonder, will we see you there? luma.com/940nj3xh
I’m disappointed the CNCF keeps picking deep red states for #KubeCon. It’s unsafe for so many community members. Why not Canada or Mexico? (Next 2 in North America are Salt Lake City again and New Orleans)
I’ve found my new calling — leading runs before tech conferences. We had so much fun with the KubeCon fun run we did the route twice. #kubecon
Hey #kubecon runners — start your day tomorrow with me & @jsalazar.co for the fun run kccncna2025.sched.com/event/2ArNt/...

What makes a runtime hardened? -Production-grade sandboxing -Attack surface elimination -Instant breach containment Edera prevents threats before they’re even triggered. See it live August 26. Register: edera.link/vev1bsky
While many security tools are mature and sophisticated, they were architected for a CPU-centric world and are blind to operations occurring on the GPU.
AI Clouds Are Flying Blind: The Illusion of Runtime Protection

We’re declaring an end to "move fast and break things." It’s time for security that actually prevents breaches — not just detects them after the fact. 🛡️ Introducing the Hardened Runtime: A new category for modern, AI-powered infrastructure security. 🧵
Okay, you know what, there's been so much popping off in Edera-land this week, that even the admin is having a hard time keeping track. From Apple basically saying "Edera is cool and right and you should listen to them", eBPF support, new docs updates, and more. So let's do a round-up, shall we?
There’s been a lot of buzz (and confusion) this week around Apple’s new Container Framework. We have a guide: Rethinking Container Isolation: VM per Container Explained lnkd.in/gveTZcwA Includes a demo: one container sets a secret, the other tries to steal it. Guess which model stops it cold?
This link will take you to a page that’s not on LinkedIn
lnkd.in
FACT: @edera.dev's container startup time beats Apple's Container system by about 100ms on equivalent. AND we can likely do even better. In some cases, Edera can launch containers faster than Docker due to how we handle container images.
Containers don’t contain. The Linux kernel is shared—and that’s the weak link. @jsalazar.co and @mauilion.dev explain why isolation matters more than ever in @thenewstack.io
What We Wish We Knew About Container Security
What we’ve learned the hard way: Isolation might be the most important primitive in distributed computing that we still haven’t gotten right.

This is worth a read if you’re curious about apple’s container framework
With this Apple Container Framework stuff, I need to clarify something that I see confusing a lot of people: In Docker Desktop/colima/lima/Rancher Desktop today a single VM runs all of your containers. With Apple Container Framework, each container is it's own VM.
Have you voted yet today? Edera and @alex.zenla.io are both nominated for the @cyberscoop.bsky.social 50 Awards this year, for Innovation of the Year and Most Inspiring Up and Comer respectively, and we'd love your vote. You can vote more than once! cyberscoop.com/cyberscoop50...
this pride month, we are going to find out which people actually have courage and which ones do not.
The future of AI depends not just on groundbreaking models, but on learning from the infrastructure lessons of the past. Read more from Edera's co-founder @alex.zenla.io
Rather than abandoning containers or slowing innovation, we must apply time-tested infrastructure principles but adapt them to meet AI's demands.
As the daughter of 2 moms 🏳️🌈 - I was born an ally and will always be one. Happy Pride!
Edera's CEO Emily Long with thoughts on Pride Month and why it's important, especially now. "We truly believe representing and celebrating these differences is a super power at Edera."
Come work with me! It will be type 1 fun with type 1 hypervisors! Iykyk

I think I'm going to swing by this meetup tonight.

Privileged containers without the risk: Edera Protect 1.1 introduces privileged mode support—run security-sensitive workloads with elevated access and strong isolation. No tradeoffs, no added complexity. Read more from @ariadne.space
Edera Makes Running Privileged Containers Safe, and Secure by Default
Privileged containers have long been considered a security risk because they bypass many of the isolation mechanisms that normally protect host systems

AI is global. Regulations aren’t. Data sovereignty is now a blocker for AI innovation—unless you have technical guarantees. Edera Protect uses workload identity to make that possible.
Sovereign AI: How Workload Identity Solves Data Sovereignty Challenges
As AI & cloud computing reshape global industries, organizations face unprecedented data sovereignty challenges that traditional approaches simply cannot solve
