A Washington Spirit spokesperson says conversations are "ongoing" with Victory+ to stream Sunday's home match, which was scheduled to be the final regional broadcast of a 7-match deal. Fans can also watch the game on CBS Sports Network. The Spirit's Oct. 4 match at Houston has been moved to NWSL+.

It took a major defensive effort, but Washington Spirit won the match and first place in the standings against Denver Summit FC at Audi Field on Sunday night. Sofia Cantore scored the lone goal, a team effort started by Leicy Santos winning the ball in Washington's defensive third. Trinity Rodman got things started early, taking a shot in the third minute and creating a corner in the fourth.

International Affairs: WAFCON Edition
After expansion and delays, Confederation of African Football's (CAF) Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) starts this weekend. Originally scheduled for 12 teams and in March, the tournament will kick off in July with 16 teams. Though not in an official FIFA international window, the Spirit will be well represented in the tournament by both some familiar names and a few newer ones.

Washington Spirit ended another long road trip with a win in Boston on Sunday night, winning their first-ever contest against the Legacy. Tara Rudd and Trinity Rodman both scored to put the Spirit ahead in the first half, and the team held on through a late goal from Boston's Sammy Smith to earn the win. After a mid-week match in New York on Wednesday, the Spirit rotated their squad heavily for this match.

Washington Spirit decisively put an end to North Carolina Courage's winning streak, defeating the home side 2-0 on Saturday night. Leicy Santos and Trinity Rodman both scored in the first half, but the Spirit had to rely on their defense to secure the win, as they were under frequent attack in the second. The Spirit had a rocky first ten minutes while they struggled to connect passes, leading to a pair of early chances for Ashley Sanchez.
