Our players and staff are supreme. The travel, training, and playing demands are real. Keeping our athletes available and prepped to perform has been a prioritized focal point this year, so major kudos to the medical, performance, tech, and ops staff for their roles in managing this stretch.

FT | 0-1 A frustrating match in which the Spirit did well to contain a difficult opponent but made one critical mistake that led to the goal. It's been a tough stretch, and nearly got points out of every game, but instead they pick up just their fourth loss of the season.
Heading into the final minute now. Spirit have had a couple corners and a couple crosses but can't find a touch to truly test Paños.
Ref ignores a nudge from Bolt at the top of the box and the Spirit have to handle a counter attempt from San Diego but so so comfortably. Halfway done with stoppage time now...
Close! A terrific cross is delivered in and San Diego gets a head to it first but juuuuust barely. Excellently placed!
Out of normal time, now the Spirit's have eight minutes of stoppage time to rescue a point...
Tamara Bolt beats Morroni and drives 3/4 of the pitch to try and slide a pass to Rodman in the box but Van Zanten is able to get to it first.
Things are getting chippy, and San Diego are adding to the frustration with a lot of time wasting. Audi is unhappy.

Spirit are pushing for an equalizer but just got a reminder that San Diego is dangerous on a break. Sandy got low and held the shot.
0-1 Wave Spirit won't want to see that one back. Sofia missed Hal on a simple back pass but did well to track back, the ball took some unfortunate bobbles and San Diego were able to clip it over MacIver and into goal.
Spirit calling Sullivan and Martínez to the bench for what would be the game's first substitutions...except now I see the Wave prepping Trinity Byars as well
Rebe close!! The Spirit work the ball to Bernal and she takes a touch and rips a shot that beats Paños but skims off the top of the bar!
Tara intercepts and immediately springs Rodman who dribbles all the way to the top of the box and strikes a shot that leaves Paños flat footed but it goes just wide.
Spirit block a shot from Gia Corley and the followup from Lia Godfrey is easily scooped up by MacIver.
San Diego get a chance to dribble and connect short passes centrally and into the box. The Spirit force them wide for a cross that gets put out for a corner, which the Spirit defended well.
Ludmila immediately causes some danger, rounding the corner into the box and putting in a cross that MacIver parries away but into danger. Luckily the Spirit clear.
