Glad someone senior from the sector is pushing back. Labour MPs need to understand the serious real anger from graduates and the people who produce them. And the dangerous financial situation they have allowed to fester, or indeed worsened, in one of Britain’s leading sectors.

I work with many Europeans, the thing that frustrates them most about working w/ us Brits is how indirect we are in communication. The Tuchel interview thing is not specific to him, it’s a cultural difference in communication, TT is very typically German and it’s something we should embrace #r4today

Is anyone going to do an analysis of the effects of school closures on the avoidance of illness and harms to children. Is the half week of lost productivity for families all over the country justified by the benefits? Are yng ppl much safer unmonitored at home versus at school ? #r4today

This is monumentally dumb. The DM is intent on destroying our institutions. If the labour market is not providing the opportunities for even the most qualified young people, why is that? Universities do a lot, but they can’t do everything. #r4today

It’s just pointless inviting Israeli officials onto #r4today. It’s a rogue state that defies international law and norms and drags its allies through the mud, without a care in the world. It’s high time we cut all military support.

It’s high time that business leaders stopped viewing education as a conveyor belt for work and take responsibility for training and upskilling willing workers from whatever starting point. Maybe consider reducing the expectations for young ppl (ie experience, references, etc) #r4today

I love the way that #r4today presenters casually (and regularly) adopt the business line of ‘regulating business will never work’ when there is SO MUCH historical evidence that it can—not to mention the abundance of evidence that deregulation can be so harmful (e.g. finance/2008 crash). Depressing.

Violins out for the retail corporations profiteering from global events. Love Nick Robinsons tepid response “Thanks very much, bye bye”, now the liberal minded policy spokesman comes on, its back to robust debate. #r4today
