sneaky publication: "English in Korea" (The New Cambridge History of the English Language). This ginormous editing project (by Raymond Hickey) took quite some time to come out, but I remember having a lot of fun looking at archival English teaching material doi.org/10.1017/9781...
(2/2) Respondents slightly preferred positive contexts ‘I was only delighted’ to negative ones ‘I was only livid’. Also the structure ‘who comes along, only Joe’ was thought to sound typically Irish. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this. I’m only delighted with the results 🙏😊
Thank you so very much who responded to the survey on ‘only’ in Irish English🙏 A majority of respondents felt that ‘she is only gorgeous’ sounded typically Irish, was more likely to be uttered by older than younger speakers, more likely female, slightly more likely urban than rural (1/2)

Thank you so much for contributing and for your kind words 🙏
I love a survey/research. This one is particularly interesting. It only takes a few minutes. #SpeirGorm
Thanks very much for doing the survey and for the comment! 🙏
Sure I'm only just done there But the sentence section starts with a five point scale and the other sentences do not have one. Just flagging.
Are you a speaker of Irish English? If so, would you share your thoughts on “only” with me for academic research? umfragen.tu-dortmund.de/index.php/42... Thank you very much!!!!🙏🙏🙏
How do you feel about "only"?
