I've long been fascinated by this chest from the Darien scheme in the National Museum of Scotland. If I had to pick one item from the collection that summed up Scotland, I think this might be it.

And luckily it was the 1980s so even the shittest of movies still actually understood how to shoot things at night, something even the most expensive of films made these days don't know how to do.

Since it's been restored and is now on BFI Player, I'm revisiting Toomorrow, which I appear to have watched (and not been impressed by) just a couple of years ago but have already completely forgotten.

Wonder what the most-ignored instruction at the Fringe is: "Please don't walk across the stage" or "Quiet please: show in progress"
Deeply suspicious of any Scottish people offering up decent photos of the eclipse.
Just heard the usual Fringe moaning from the locals as one person had the old favourite complaint about them suddenly stopping "without warning". I cannot think of a single time I've stopped in the street but turned round first to let the people behind me know I'm stopping. Who actually does this?
