Everyone: … Me: 24-hour news should not exist, it’s an abomination and responsible for much of today’s societal decline.

In the spirit of microwave being (supposedly) popty ping, I really hope laser blaster is something like pewty pew.
MAY S4C BE WITH YOU
Four pints with an old friend and suddenly the world is a bit less inexorably shit. For a short while.
Well, well. It came through! Barely. It's mostly just the smell of rain under the lightest lacklustre sprinkling imaginable. Just a tease, really.
Go on, you bastard. I double dare you!
Following Rod Liddle's death I've been thinking again about the often unacknowledged privilege in being able to see the words of a demagogue as just things you disagree with rather than things that threaten people.
Brilliant letter from Stuart Thompson to Jeremy Clarkson about his comments that benefit claimants should write weekly thank you letters to tax payers detailing how they spend their benefits each week.
Woke briefly in the night and it smelled of rain from the open windows, but wasn’t raining.
Pleased with this- first brilliant move that wasn't also a happy accident. Pulls the black rook over and sets up a juicy fork for me with Nc6+, winning the black queen.
Anyone pulling that “don’t speak ill of the dead” shtick re Liddle gets an instant block.
Wow, The Media Terves And Sensible Opinionist Set seem VERY touchy about us orrible oiks repeatedly mentioning that their dead bestie Rod Liddle beat his pregnant girlfriend and wrote repeatedly about wanting to view CSAM and rape children just bc it's true, we should probably all stop saying that
Rod liddle had a police caution for domestic violence against his then pregnant girlfriend. He once wrote in one of his columns that he could never be a teacher because his urge to rape children was too strong. He is now dead. Obviously no kipper for him.
Oh no, Rod Liddle is dead? And here's me with no beers in.
Made a tuna Niçoise so now you all have to hear about it - I don’t make the rules. Blame @southlondongirl.bsky.social
The DWP are asking for people to contribute evidence for a forthcoming review of Carers Allowance and how it operates. Admittedly this is niche, but please spread the word so it reaches the right people. www.gov.uk/government/c...
Carer's Allowance: call for evidence
This call for evidence is being administered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to gather information and views to build on the Department’s existing evidence. What we hear will help shape ...

Quick note to confirm I really bloody love room temperature ratatouille, and it makes an excellent hot-weather lunch with cold meat and a spot of salad. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Once again, I have Pilated. Expecting my medal in the post any day now 🏅📦🫡
I’m not sure whether this is just a psychological difference or AI bros fundamentally don’t understand the nature of an artistic experience, but: I don’t want a personalised film/book/podcast. I want to see/read/hear the same one as everyone else, so I can read reviews or discuss it with my friends
For years, Telegraph columnists told us climate breakdown is a hoax. Now they say: it's real, but it's too late to do anything about it, so let the bodies pile high (again). Just one long list of excuses not to reduce fossil fuel use. Such newspapers bear as much responsibility as the oil firms.
We had the most amazing day at Schönramer brewery. An excellent brewery tour at a local brewery working at surprising scale. If you're in the area, definitely worth a visit.
Honestly at this point all my fan does is make me too hot in more interesting ways
I've confirmed that the UK's new Sovereign AI Fund does no due diligence on whether AI companies use copyrighted work without permission before investing in them. It took me 3 Freedom of Information requests to find this out: 🧵 1/10
No longer content with pillaging intellectual work and dismembering our environment (already critically weakened), AI companies are now hellbent on destroying books galore including rare editions. Shut down these nefarious enterprises already.
AI labs buy, scan, shred millions of rare books
If you have retreated to physical books because the internet is too full of AI slop, bad news — now they’re shredding the books to feed their AI slop machines.

Just had lemon sole baked in a parcel with soy sauce*, ginger, red chili and spring onion. Served with brown rice (more spring onion and a bit of parsley through it) and some Greek salad. No pic cos it didn’t last long enough. * also white vinegar, sesame oil, white pepper and a splash of water.

Just one week to go until you can visit 10 pubs in Hull selling beer from wooden casks. As Sainsbury’s say come and taste the difference. We will have 3 ales in the wood and one in the metal. See pictures to check out the full route of pubs and list of breweries. @hullandeyorkscamra.bsky.social
