Breaking news: Leaders of the Kennedy Center have voted to close the venue. Critics have accused center leaders of exaggerating the building’s physical problems to justify a closure they say could conceal financial mismanagement under President Trump’s leadership.

A coffee shop is moving into the building across the street from my office, and once it opens we will have FOUR coffee shops within a one-block radius.

I can’t say anything about Dolly Parton that hasn’t been said already. But I do recommend the Dolly Parton’s America podcast for a really lovely look at her life and work. What a force she was. 💔

In addition to the obvious impacts on consumers, I work with a faculty member who has to buy critical equipment for his research from a Canadian manufacturer. This is disastrous.
