I always keep wondering why every time an indie does a Mirror's Edge mimic, it's always a replication of the aesthetic style of Catalyst (the shit one), and not the first one... And then I remember there's like 7 people on the planet w. the lightmapping experience to do it..

Yo is anyone else using the new Steam Recommendation Personal Calendar thing? I freaking adore it. I don't think I've ever bought so many games in such a short period of time. Feel like I find something good several times a week now.
Tried Campaign Evolved. Felt fucking awful. Just cludgy, floaty, awkward, old. Sorry but I'll take the way something like Halo Infinite (which I put like 300 hours into), feels over this any day of the week. Easy refund.
A friend made a great point about angry comments folks like us get from not making what some folk want. There's a big contraction happening in VR games (games in general), which means everyone has less to play in their favored genres. So the fight over focus is zero-sum.

The consequence of the fact that I work like 12-14 hour days recently is that I genuinely look forward to the end of the day and just brainrotting on Reels until I pass out.
It's pretty tiresome how, when you bury into the request of someone who asks for 'more realistic gunshot sounds' for a game, what they're asking for is the sound of a gunshot blowing out a tiny smartphone or bodycam microphone, which isn't how guns sound to a person at all.
*reinstalls Bulletstorm and Crysis 1-3 because no-one makes linear singleplayer FPS games anymore*
