Maybe I'm just a sucker for some structure and agency to describe outcomes. Simply put: Academia is not different from the rest of society with marketing and branding playing a key role.
LinkedIn added an "AI slop" button. The U-Turn is happening, expect to see a lot more of this from other tech companies.

Google is extracting 100% of the value from the websites it summarizes, and giving nothing back in return. 7/

AI adoption is blamed for Ford being the most recalled automaker in the U.S. with 51 recalls covering over 11 million vehicles in the first half of 2026 alone.
