I fought the parts of this agreement that go against the interests, the human rights and the clear will of the Ecuadorean people, bringing it to the International Trade Committee for study, meeting with the Ecuadorean ambassador and with Ecuadorean indigenous reps. Canada should be ashamed.

Canada should follow the lead of the Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) who spoke out in October expressing ‘unequivocal support’ for sovereignty, territorial integrity and maintaining the Caribbean region as a Zone of Peace.
We urge Canada to suspend Operation CARIBBE and its Memorandum of Understanding with the U.S. to avoid any risk of Canadian intelligence being used in unlawful, lethal attacks.
