If you post survey data, news articles, etc. without a link back to the source whenever possible, you are weakening the informational chain of custody and making it harder for other people to confirm that they're seeing accurate information. This holds even if you're mad at whatever it is.

Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Really coming into fruition, one of my “Dutch modernist” aquascapes! In time the grassy vallisneria in the back corner should grow much longer and kinda drape over the whole thing a bit, creating a more dappled light effect on the carpets underneath. And the red lily will get bigger.

My third attempt executing this basic plant design. It’s still young but I think it’s reached escape velocity! School of rummy nose tetras looking very yellow submarine.

Lots of the arguments about why Graham Platner’s past shouldn’t be disqualifying are very good arguments about someone other than Graham Platner.

I’m lying in bed for some reason wondering if I can formulate a more satisfying definition of the musical term “riff,” so here goes, for no particular reason…

I have an aquarium with a surface environment which means every now and then you get to see aquatic creatures briefly leave the water, and I always find it so surreal! Like somebody jumping out of the tv screen. You’re not supposed to be in this plane of existence!

I always think it’s especially pretty at this stage!

Shrimplets! Easier to see through the 5x camera than with the naked eye. Probably hatched two days ago.

Checked the water table after dark and found a little male platy resting in the shallowest water possible, almost breaking the surface, with its belly on the stone underneath. Seems like a vulnerable place for a fish to be, but it’s very painterly!

I don’t think the internet makes people gullible. I think it empowers gullible people to be skeptical for the first time in human history, and they don’t all handle it well. (This is an opinion I am workshopping.)
