Reasons I miss paper bus tickets - I used to carry 2 extra strips of 5 in my bag for people who needed them. Because so often people ask for bus fare. So it was a easy way to help. Just hand em a ticket and then they can get anywhere. Or just sit in a heated/air conditioned place for a while.

Spouse: reading good fic? Me: *nods* Spouse: thought so. You have this particular happy sad sniffle sound when the fic is particularly good. Me: *slow blink, head tilt* Spouse: you do! It's a thing!

“We live in an age defined by boundaries. This exhibition at SFMOMA reflects those boundaries: between East and West, Korea and America, the modern and the contemporary, the personal and the universal. I don’t want to prescribe how these works should be seen; whether out of curiosity or study, all perspectives are welcome. My only hope is that this exhibition can be a small but sturdy bridge for many.” — RM

"And that's the kind of day it's been." Lloyd Robertson was theeee voice of the news for so much of my life. Like I watched the video with this article and it just made me think of growing up watching CTV news. He always seemed like a good guy. www.ctvnews.ca/canada/artic...

Spent my afternoon at a local outreach center packing harm reduction kits and then picking up my veggie share and that felt really, really good. Both are very community oriented things and it felt good to do something useful.

A beloved friend pointed out a potential way I can look at this job hunt as a chance to change my life in a way I have wanted for a very long time. That scares and delights me.

But I really do think that there is an urge to not be "mean" or "unfair" or "negative" that is making us grope for rationalizations for why it is not just Correct but Righteous to dislike this person. (or book. or tv show. or or or) And it's actually okay to just... not like things.
