Science and entrepreneurship go hand in hand. The latest ARCTECH workshop explored business development, startup ecosystems, market analysis, and technology commercialization. Thanks to Ann-Kathrin Wagner and Tobias Kirchhoff for sharing their expertise! #ARCTECH #MSCA #Innovation #Startup
Another inspiring session from the Science Innovation & Start-Up Companies Workshop Series which focused on the MedTech ecosystem with insights from Marco Wendel (Medical Valley) and Jörg Trinkwalter (tVNS Technologies GmbH) on market access, business development, and MedTech marketing strategies.
Yesterday, Prof. Marco Moracci from Univ. of Naples Federico II delivered the closing lecture at #CBM16, and Joan Bermejo presented two posters. Both members brought #archaealresearch to a broader audience beyond the archaeal community, an important step toward increasing archaeal #awareness.
🚀👩🏻🔬 Another great edition of the Science Innovation & Start-Up Workshop Series by Microbify GmbH and Interherence! Florian Lintl and Claudia Doblinger (TUM Venture Labs) introduced PhD candidates to EU policies and the startup ecosystem. ✨ Bridging science and business!
Sergio Scotillo is currently at the Univ. of Naples Federico II, working at Marco Moracci’s lab on archaeal biofilms. Along with Cristina De Castro's lab, the team studies exopolysaccharide structures using advanced techniques (GC-MS, NMR) #MSCA #Archaea #Biotechnology #Extremophiles #biofilms
Our #ARCTECH PhD researchers visited Microbify & Univ. of Regensburg to explore anaerobic workflows, bioreactors, and multi-omics approaches for archaeal–bacterial interactions. Science meets innovation 🚀 #Methanogens #Archaea #Microbiome #Biotech #PhDLife
Great week at the ARCTECH Midterm Meeting in Graz! PhD candidates trained at the Medizinische Universität Graz on #microbiome research, #RStats, and omics. Thanks to all partners for an inspiring and collaborative meeting! #Archaea #DataScience #HorizonEurope #DoctoralNetwork #EuropeanResearch
Another engaging Online #ARCTECH PhD Meeting 👩🔬👨🔬 Great presentations by Jia Yu Ho and Ankita Banerjee on archaeal virus–host interactions, S-layers and pili. Always inspiring to see ideas evolve through discussion. #ARCTECH #Archaea #Microbiology #PhDLife #ResearchCommunity
🚀👩🏻🔬 Another inspiring round of the Science Innovation & Start-Up Companies Workshop Series. This time, PhD students shared flash talks on deep-tech start-ups they’re passionate about. ✨ Sparking the entrepreneurial spirit. #ARCTECH #FromScienceToBusiness #Startup #entrepreneurship #biotech
🎶 All we want for Christmas is… ✨ groundbreaking research 🌍 increase archaeal community 🦠 new archaeal insights From all of us at ARCTECH, wishing you a restful, inspiring, and science-filled Christmas 🎄✨🔬 #ARCTECH #HorizonEurope #PhDLife #Archaea #ChristmasInScience
🎉We’re thrilled to share an update from the Online #ARCTECH PhD Meetings! The last sessions focused on two exciting themes: archaeal viruses and archaeal biofilms. ✨Thanks to all speakers and participants for driving archaeal research forward! #ARCTECH #archaea #researchcommunity #HorizonEurope
Recently we held our biannual ARCTECH meeting — usually in person, but online this time. PhD researchers and PIs shared progress, results, and insights that keep the project moving forward. 🔬🤝 #ARCTECH #ScienceCommunity #PhDLife #ResearchUpdate
Congrats to Ankita Banerjee from @archaellum.bsky.social's lab & #ARCTECH for winning the VAAM poster award! 🏆 She studies how Sulfolobus acidocaldarius protects itself from UV damage using pili & DNA exchange- understanding archaeal stress responses! #VAAM2025 #Microbiology #Archaea #ScienceWins
Why are Haloarchaea so colorful? Their pictorial hues come from carotenoid pigments like bacterioruberin & beta-carotene. These not only create stunning pink & orange tones but also protect the cells from UV & oxidative stress. Likewise, they hold exciting biotech potential! #ARCTECH #Microbiology
The S-layer is a crystalline protein coat found at the cell envelope of most #archaea, forming a hexagonal symmetry resulting in geometric pores. These self-assembling structures have exciting potential for #nanotechnology! The stunning images were provided by the Daum lab. #ARCTECH #microbiology
We, from the ArcTech project, would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a fantastic start into 2025!🎄💫 Thank you for following us and for your support! #ARCTECH #Archaea #Microorganisms #Microbiology #Biotechnology #Innovation #Sustainability #GreenEnergy #Biotech #EuropeanResearch
Here is a shoutout to @quaxlab.bsky.social, who is an amazing collaborator on this project and just joined BlueSky. 🦠🔬Wellcome Tessa! #ArchaeaSky @archaeabiotech.bsky.social
Check out our structure of the archaeal virus HFTV1! Amazing work by two students - Daniel Zhang and Becky Davies, supported by @mathewmclaren.bsky.social. Great collaboration with T. Quax & S.
