there is something so satisfying writing the second half of an extremely long fic. its so much easier to write heavy hitting emotional beats when you have 90k words of buildup to lean on
Bowie had his checkup, his bloodwork is normal AND he's now heartworm free!
The mind of Bowie is unknowable. It's hard to know what his baseline is, because he was quiet when we got him, then he was whiner and louder when he was on prednisone, and then he got quiet again (when he got sick). So hard to know what he'll be like in the future.

Got to see him today. Kidney values normal but electrolytes out of whack and still not eating. They put a nasogastric tube in him shortly after we left, their main focus right now is trying to get nutrition in him so he can heal
bowie is at the hospital right now, he has a kidney infection and colon inflammation, not directly caused by heartworm treatment but likely the stress and immunosuppression contributed to it. we were just confused because he wasnt eating and seemed so tired so we took him back to the vet–
