I don't think I can make a better case for modern games have a difficult problem with doing the unknown than Warcraft 3 Reforged. Specifically, there is a scene in Tomb of Sargeras where Gul'Dan is lashing out because he's gonna die alone in that tomb and he thinks he sees something in the dark.

You know for how huge Attack on Titan was, I find it kind of disappointing no one took the "Organic Mecha" concept and went further with it. I mean, Kaiju 8 exists but it lost all of the stuff that made it interesting by the end of the first season.
