i think, now, more than ever its really important to interact with people who like your art and vice versa, and cultivate more community and trust among artists and commissioners and followers in general. its not a perfect system by any means but i think building trust between everyone will help

This is what people mean by AI is theft. Someone I know later found out an artist (16k followers) they got a commision from uses AI and now they don't have funds to commish me or another artist they like. Not only does the slop machine steal art, these scammers directly steal work from real artists

Raven’s cheek is swollen where her loose fang is and I’m worried it might be infected, so taking her into surgery tomorrow morning 😢 please send all the good vibes… she will be one fang less teefy than her usual self by the end but at least she won’t be in pain anymore 🙏 🙏

My incredibly lukewarm take is that paying taxes isn’t an inherently bad thing (in fact, it can actually be a good thing); people just need to be able have a say in what their taxes are paying for, and government should be obligated by law to spend taxpayer dollars accordingly

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

Today, August 4, 2026, is the setting of Ray Bradbury’s short story “There Will Come Soft Rains” about a fully automated house continuing on after the family who lived there and the world around it died in a nuclear blast.

It's weird that, as a reader, it feels like comics come out super fast from month to month. Ephemeral things. But being in the weeds of comic production, it feels like every single issue is climbing a mountain.

Well… this victory was short-lived, in the form of various mid-level management types trying to secretly make ads with it anyway without our approval, and boss now saying it’s important to make some concessions in order to not upset them. Still doing my best to push back.

***Finally*** managed to convince my boss not to use genAI in company-branded ads, photos and videos bc it’s toxic to the brand’s integrity (among other reasons), and on the one hand I’m glad that they’re at least committing to that but also sad that it had to be fought for at all I’m so tired

I’ve reached the “we know you’ve been working here for years, but now we need you to work even harder to prove you’re better than AI and justify keeping your own job” phase of the day job

We need to return to traditional masculinity, to the time when real men took their kitties for walkies so they could smell smells.

What people using AI crave at root is an end to the uncertainty of human interaction and connection and its replacement with endless hollow affirmation and instant gratification. They should be pitied but never enabled or excused.
