Feels like "generalist" used to mean "not a technical expert in any one piece of the stack but understand how it fits together and are smart enough to solve most problems in it" and now it means "expert in all the things all the time and also AI just because".

I'm officially shutting down streaming through at least 2026. I've been toying with the idea for a while, but between my professional career coming to an abrupt end and having to sell my house and minor health issues stacking up, I need all the spare bandwidth I can get.

Job listings are getting more unhinged in both their requirements for AI skills and the fact that they're written by AI and super vague so you don't even know the technical requirements for the job half the time. I just want out of software so bad.

Developing plantar fasciitis is not super high on the list of bullshit I have to deal with right now, but it is one more thing.

Got a bunch of stuff done around the house today but still too gassed to stream. Will be closer to normal sleep next week.

So a random box of junk that was sitting in my garage loft and I had forgotten existed decided to upend itself and smash my windshield. I'd say it took the wind out of my sails if there'd been any to begin with. Imagine the sound of a sail being sucked into a vacuum attachment.

Let the record show that I spent a good 10 minutes of my stream tonight being unable to remember the word "sentience." Make of that what you will.

Had an interview on Wednesday that I punted hard because I was running on 3 hours of sleep. At least the responses are still trickling in. No promises on streams soon but there are a few games on my want-to-try list.
