In 1984 the National Union of Mineworkers went on strike. In 2001, Artangel commissioned Jeremy Deller to produce The Battle of Orgreave, a spectacular re-enactment of what happened that day. Captured on film, the work is currently on show at Kunstmuseum Gelsenkirchen in Germany until October.

Earlier this month we returned to Yto Barrada’s The Mothership in Tangier with a group of our supporters, known as Angels. Founded with the support of Artangel, The Mothership is a dye house that revives indigenous traditions and encourages experimental artistic practices.
Naeem Mohaiemen's THROUGH A MIRROR, DARKLY is currently on show at The Hunterian, University of Glasgow until Saturday 11 Oct. Mohaiemen’s three-channel film focuses on flashpoint moments in May 1970, when American students protesting domestic racism and overseas wars were met by state violence.
