Panel comparison between the original Ring Spell comic, and the animated series (the subtitled one XD). The comic was my first time using 3d models for everything in a comic, the animated version is after I've spent years refining the style I want. Both are on my website~! artemficta.com

Original panel from the Ring Spell comic. Updated version of Ring Spell for the animated series.

Animating is so easy when Blender doesn't betray me. Working on episode 00 of Ring Spell, animating the comic version and putting off the musical version for now due to my current skill level. Maybe an episode a week for this? We'll see.

After much dileberation I've opted to just animate the comic version of Ring Spell as my first big animation project, due to it being easiest and the least confusing for people. I'll have to save other versions and the musical for more skilled me. I am going to change some outfits & BGs though.

Need the internet to stop showing me the lattice modifier technique for 3d to flatten the head and make it look "2d" at every angle, so many posts. The model still looks 3d, you aren't winning the 2d fake out game, just increase your camera focal length for the same effect or use orthographic view.

I'm trying to figure out what to do with arms during animating conversations, if it's animated like an anime while still using 3d models. That's where I'm at with animating atm, lol. Once I figure this out I feel I'll be good to go since most of what I write is conversations.
